Service Updates:
Oman customs have informed all couriers that, effective 24 December 2011, any non document item which has a value over 7500 USD will be cleared under a separate Bill of Entry and the consignee has to deposit 20 OMR ( 52 USD) as deposit and 1 OMR (2.60 USD) as bill of entry fee. This is applicable for a shipment that does not have a Country of origin attested/legalized by the Oman Embassy from the origin country.
The consignee can apply for a refund if they are able to produce the Certificate of Origin a later date to Oman customs
