The German courier service provider has agreed to transport six tons of heavy freight, consisting of over 100 musical instruments which range from music stands to valuable violins. In order to protect its highly previous freight, DHL developed a range of special services as Vincenzo Scrudato, MD of DHL Trade Fairs & Events, explained:
“By using trucks with air suspension, special cases for temperature-sensitive items, constant temperature control in the cargo space and continual monitoring via 'track and trace', we ensure that these unique instruments reach the concert halls in Europe and America on time and of course undamaged.”
For special deliveries DHL is going to provide an airplane. Beyond that, the courier service has arranged for two employees to be work together on each delivery. Gewandhaus Director, Professor Andreas Schulz, said that he was fully confident about the upcoming tour and DHL’s support:
“DHL provides us with exactly what we require: the transportation of our equipment with total safety, security and reliability. With the Bonn-based group at our side, we can concentrate 100% on our musical performances.”
