TNT Economy Express Labelling & Documentation

Although the booking can be made on the web site, it will not currently generate a shipping label. It is therefore necessary for Transglobal to produce the TNT shipping labels and send them via email to be printed and attached to each parcel. If you do not have access to email or a printer then the driver will bring a manual shipping label to be completed by hand. In this case it is essential that you tick the appropriate service, ie Economy Express. You will be liable for additional charges, if any other service is selected. Also you will need to insert our account number which can be obtained from our customer services.

Shipments bound for non EU countries (click here for current list) will need to be accompanied by 3 copies of a commercial invoice / packing list showing a full description and value of the goods for customs purposes.

TNT Economy Express Volumetric Weight Charges

The charge for your shipment is calculated on weight or volume. Sometimes, bulky items may be charged at a higher rate than the actual weight of the shipment. The formula to calculate the “volumetric” weight on this service is as follows: Multiply the 3 dimensions together & divide the result by 4000 (not 6000 which is the standard convertion for air transport). We have listed below 2 examples:

  • Parcel weighs 10kg @ 50x30x20cm (50x30x20 divided by 4000 = 7.5) ie the actual weight exceeds the volumetric weight which means you would be charged for 10kg.
  • Parcel weighs 10kg @ 50x50x40cm (50x50x40 divided by 4000 = 25) ie the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight which means you would be charged for 25kg.

TNT Economy Express Maximum Size & Weight Allowance

The maximum size per piece in centimeters is 240*120*180 high.

The maximum weight for loose items is 70 kg.

The maximum weight for palletised goods is 1000kg.
